The journey to the man of your dreams may seem like a walk in the park, as love is initially painted out to be; but the group challenges, dual eliminations, and house drama infiltrate with the initial idea of love.

As a selected figure, The Bachelor is to navigate through the season filled with trials and tribulations to emerge triumphant, only at the other end with a companion on his arm. The role of The Bachelor is typically determined by the popularity of a contestant from the previous season, as viewers grow emotional attachments and become fond of a contestant and advocate for their promotion of the lead for the following season. They are then given a pool of candidates that are either self nominated or nominated by others, and will compete in a season-long competition to hopefully develop a connection that goes beyond the show to result in an engagement. The show is filmed in a distinctive way where the cast is in a secluded location with no connection to the outside world to eliminate distractions in order to focus on one thing; to find true love.
