Vivek Ramachandran

Vivek is a junior studying Computer Science and Business Administration at USC. Now in his 6th year of Model UN, Vivek has taken a passion for working on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the conference.

Vivek hopes to make TrojanMUN 2017 the largest and most unique one yet, with a diverse selection of committees and highly trained staff. When not MUNing, Vivek can be found watching the Seahawks game or building rockets with USC’s Rocket Propulsion Lab.

Shelley Dai

Shelley Dai is a senior studying Business Administration with a minor in computer science. This is fourth year of being involved in TrojanMUN and she is incredibly excited to take part in organizing this conference. Her passions include data science and baking carb-loaded goods. Shelley grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, an upbringing that has given her an appreciation of hot air balloons and breakfast burritos. In her free time she can be found exploring Los Angeles and finding the best places to eat, curling up with a good book, and binge-watching romantic comedies (preferably of the Love, Actually variety).

Tarek Roshdy

Tarek is a senior from Egypt double majoring in Economics and Philosophy, Politics & Law. He has been involved with MUN for three years. In his spare time, he likes listening to Radiohead, arguing with his friends, and making falafel.

Claudia Frankel

USG of Ad-Hoc

Claudia Frankel is a senior studying International Relations with a minor in Human Rights. Originally from Berkeley, CA, Claudia spent the past semester studying abroad in Paris and then spent the summer working in Madrid. She has Spanish roots, and fluently speaks both French and Spanish. She is excited to be serving as the Undersecretary-General of the Ad-Hoc Committee at TrojanMUN 2017. She currently serves as Director of Recruitment for the MUNSC club, and has served as an Undersecretary-General and Head Chair in the past.

Sebastian John Walter Young

Sebastian is a Sophomore studying Physics, Nanotechnology, Law and Society.  He has participated in Model United Nations since the ninth grade, when he lived in Bangkok.  Since, he has seen MUN conferences from Hyderabad to Beijing, and experienced several MUN circuits.  Whether forming a conference from the ground up, or engaging vigorously in debate as a delegate, Sebastian sees the potential of MUN to improve oneself and others through the mingling of cultures.  In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, watching TV and movies, discussing politics, and adventuring.

Sarahi Juarez

Sarahi Juarez is excited to serve as the Under-Secretary General of Specialized Bodies. Sarahi has staffed TrojanMUN the previous two years as deputy chair and then as head chair. Aside from staffing TrojanMUN, she has led MUNSC’s high school conference, SCMUN as Deputy Secretary General and is the Director of External Relations for the MUNSC team. Sarahi is a junior double-majoring in International Relations and Contemporary Latino & Latin American Studies, with a minor in Spanish. Outside of MUN, she enjoys watching tv, exploring LA’s cafes, and hanging out with friends and family. Sarahi is thrilled to take on four unique committees that are completely new to the MUN circuit and is hoping to make TrojanMUN 2017 the best one yet. Kabir Badiani

Kabir is currently a sophomore at USC, studying International Relations Global Economy with minors in Business and Dramatic Arts. He is a South African-Indian, raised in Mumbai, India. He has been involved in Model UN for 6 years, delving into moderated caucuses and resolution writing from his freshman year of high school. Outside of Model UN, Kabir is an avid performance enthusiast, taking the stage with the School of Dramatic Arts at USC, while also being a part of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

Abhiram Reddy

Abhiram Reddy (Abhi) is a Sophomore at the University of Southern California studying International Relations with a minor in Political Science and is serving as the Under Secretary-General of Delegate Affairs at TrojanMUN 2017.

He was born and raised in Woodridge, Illinois but has spent all of high school living in Hyderabad India. Currently in his 6th year of MUN, Abhiram has attended numerous conferences in India, the U.A.E, and the United States as a delegate and chair. He has also served as the Secretary General of his high school conference and is the current Director of GACommittee Training for MUNSC. In his free time he enjoys reading, finding the best Thai restaurants in L.A., and going to theme parks. He hopes that TrojanMUN 2017 will be an engaging and transformative experience for all delegates

Alexander Melnik

Alex Melnik is a junior majoring in International Relations. He spent the past year living in Indonesia via the Boren Award and Critical Language Scholarship and is excited to be back at USC this year! For fun, Alex enjoys singing, photography, and collecting anything Pikachu-related. In the past, he’s served as chair for TrojanMUN and as the Secretary-General of USC’s high school MUN conference. He’s also worked as a Resident Assistant.

Kayla Soren

Kayla Soren is a freshman from Louisville, Kentucky, double-majoring in International Relations and Environmental Studies. Although actively involved in debate in high school, this is her first year in MUN. TrojanMUN 2016 was her first conference and, consequently, the conference that made her passionate about MUN. She hopes that this conference is as impactful for the delegates as it was for her.

Model UN inspired her to work with the United Nations. She currently serves as a Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment at UN Women. She is also a UN Local Pathways Fellow, working with the LA government on a plan to uphold the Sustainable Development Goals. Outside of UN activities, she loves to rock climb, hike, and anything outdoors. She’s looking forward to meeting everyone!

Manipushpak Gupta

Manipushpak Gupta is a sophomore studying Computer Science/Business Administration. It’s his fourth year being involved in Model UN. He grew up in India, being exposed to all kinds of spices and the varied cultures present there and saw model UN as a platform to discuss global issues across the cultures of the world. He moved here to explore his passion for Computer Science and Entrepreneurship and in the future wishes to continue it to solve economic and social issues present in the world.
